The term terrible two’s seems to come from the idea that two year old children are so difficult to manage. That is because at this age they have certainly begun to discover their independence. At two, children are full of energy and are discovering what hand/eye coordination is all about. At this age a child begins to open doors, walk upstairs, and turn pages of a book. At the same time they will also tear the book apart. That is what makes two year olds terrific, not terrible. They are discovering what makes things tick. They find as much fun in building a tower with blocks as they do with knocking it down. We understand that patients and love are the most important teaching tools with two year old children, and this along with a day filled with a variety of activities make our two year old class second to none.
